Cloudflare WARP+ 1.1.1.1 replaces the connection between the smartphone and the Internet with a new protocol that encrypts data leaving the smartphone. Warp comes from Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 application which when released was an alternative DNS service, not the one set by the internet ISP you are using. WARP and WARP+ are functions within the 1.1.1.1 app that act as a VPN but unlike any other VPN service available to date.
Even though WARP doesn’t mask your IP address like a VPN, it will still encrypt data sent from a smartphone. WARP+ does everything that WARP does but with an extra feature – Argo Smart Routing. This technology reroutes your internet traffic through Cloudflare’s network to reduce network congestion. To understand this better you should have some background on what DNS and VPN actually do.
